One day
I noticed some insects on my blackberry
vines. Being curious, I allowed them to continue feed on the
blackberry
leaves until they matured, so that I could more easily identify them.
This view gives a size clue for the adult leaf-footed bug. Which really is a true bug, unlike most of what people frequently call "bugs".
This nymph
will be an adult after its
next molt. You can see the wing buds.
This
picture clearly shows the wide,
flattened structures on the back legs, which because they look like
leaves, give the bug its name.
