The
blue
sharpshooter, a leafhopper, is a
vector (spreader) of serious bacterial diseases in plants.
Therefore it is listed as an agricultural pest. The common name
"blue sharpshooter" is also applied to another leafhopper, Oncometopia orbona, a pest for the
same reason.
